ITS is comprised of a number of technologies, including information processing, communications, control, and electronics. Joining these technologies to our transportation system saves lives, time, and money. This industry-driven association is where public and private organizations work together to advance intelligent transportation technology in the Commonwealth.
What does ITSVA do?
ITSVA works collectively with State, county, and local governments in Virginia to utilize technology to develop and grow the best transportation system that finite resources can buy. Taking advantage of advanced transportation technologies is essential to constantly improving Virginians’ quality of life.
Today, because of recent advances in computing power, information technology, and consumer electronics, opportunities to continue to develop Virginia’s smart transportation system exist like never before.
ITSVA is intended to serve as a forum within which public and private organizations can work cooperatively to advance intelligent transportation technology in the Commonwealth. It is a public/private partnership striving to promote the deployment of ITS technology and improve public awareness of the benefits of technology for transportation.
Who can join?
